  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings (e.g. red pepper flakes, cherry tomatoes, egg, feta cheese or seeds

Instructions

  • Slice and Toast the Bread:
    Place the bread slices in a toaster or toaster oven and toast them to your desired level of crispiness.
  • Prepare the Avocado:
    Cut the ripe avocado in half lengthwise. Remove the pit by gently tapping the pit with a knife and twisting it out.
    Scoop the avocado flesh into a small mixing bowl using a spoon.
  • Mash the Avocado:
    Use a fork to mash the avocado in the bowl until it reaches your preferred level of creaminess. Some people prefer it smooth, while others like it a bit chunky.
  • Season the Avocado:
    Drizzle a small amount of extra virgin olive oil over the mashed avocado.
