Instructions
Prep the ingredients : Thinly slice your onion and ginger. If using garlic, smash it lightly with the back of a knife — this helps release allicin, its natural antimicrobial compound.
Layer into a clean jar : Add onion, ginger, spices, and optional ingredients to a clean, sterilized glass jar.
Cover with raw honey : Pour honey over everything until fully submerged.
Seal and leave to infuse : Close the jar and let it sit at room temperature for 12–24 hours.
The honey will begin to thin out as the onion releases its juices.
Use immediately or let it strengthen : You can start using it within a day, but it becomes stronger and more soothing over the next 2–3 days.
