Why I Started Drinking Ginger Shots

As a busy mom, I’m always looking for quick and natural ways to boost my energy and strengthen my immune system. Store-bought ginger shots are convenient but often overpriced and loaded with preservatives. So, I decided to start making my own! These homemade ginger shots make me feel great, give me a morning energy boost, and taste so much better than anything you’d find in stores.

When & How to Drink Ginger Shots

  • Best time to drink: First thing in the morning on an empty stomach for maximum benefits.
  • Alternative times: Before a workout, after a meal to aid digestion, or as a mid-day energy boost.

  • Apple cider vinegar: I bought mine from Holland & Barrett, but you can find it in most grocery stores.
  • Turmeric root: I found mine in a local grocery store—check the fresh produce section!

Easy Energizing Ginger Shots for Wellness

This homemade ginger shot recipe is packed with nutrients, easy to make, and perfect for starting your day with an immunity-boosting kick.
Servings 6 bottle
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large carrots chopped
  • 2- inch piece of fresh ginger peeled
  • 1- inch piece of turmeric root peeled, optional
  • 2 oranges peeled and cut into chunks
  • ½ lemon peeled and cut
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar optional
  • 1 tbsp honey optional, for sweetness

Instructions
 

  • Juicer Method:
    Prepare all ingredients by peeling and chopping them into manageable sizes.
    Run the carrots, ginger, turmeric, oranges, and lemon through the juicer.
    Stir in the apple cider vinegar and honey (if using).
    Pour into 60ml shot bottles and store in the fridge.
  • Blender Method:
    Add chopped carrots, ginger, turmeric, oranges, and lemon to a high-speed blender.
    Pour in 1/2 cup of water or coconut water to help with blending.
    Blend until smooth, then strain through a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve to remove pulp.
    Stir in apple cider vinegar and honey.
    Pour into 60ml shot bottles and refrigerate.

Notes

  • Adjust the Spice Level: If you prefer a milder shot, use less ginger or turmeric. For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Sweeten to Taste: If the shots are too strong, add a little honey or maple syrup to balance the flavors.
  • Strain for a Smoother Texture: If blending instead of juicing, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth for a smoother consistency.
  • Storage Tips: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze in ice cube trays and thaw as needed.
  • Best Time to Drink: Take a shot first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for maximum benefits.
