A few weeks ago, my husband came home from football training with sore knees and a slightly swollen ankle. While he stuck to his usual recovery routine—rest, ice, and elevation—I wanted something natural to support healing from the inside too. So instead of making a wellness shot every morning, I started meal-prepping a batch of these Pineapple Turmeric Wellness Shots to keep in the fridge.
By the next day, he was already asking for “that golden shot” again. It made him feel lighter, less inflamed, and more energised… and honestly? Now we both grab one straight from the fridge every morning. It’s become the easiest wellness habit we’ve added into our routine—bright, refreshing, anti-inflammatory, and so simple to make.
If you’re looking for a daily boost that tastes amazing and supports your body naturally, this is the perfect place to start. 🌱💛

Notes, Storage & Helpful Tips
• Turmeric stains — protect your hands + surfaces:
If you’re using fresh turmeric, be prepared for its bright golden colour to stain your fingers, nails, and even your countertop. Wear kitchen gloves, and always slice it on a dedicated chopping board (preferably plastic). A little prep here saves a lot of scrubbing later!
• Black pepper boost:
Always add a tiny pinch of black pepper to your wellness shots. It contains piperine, which helps your body absorb curcumin (the active compound in turmeric) far more effectively.
• Juicer vs. Blender — both work:
If you’re using a juicer, simply run everything through and you’re done.
If you’re using a blender, blend all ingredients until smooth, then strain through a fine mesh sieve or nut milk bag for a smoother shot.
• Storage:
Keep your wellness shots in an airtight glass bottle or jar in the fridge for up to 3–4 days. Give the bottle a shake before pouring each shot.
• Meal prep win:
Make a batch at once and store it ready-to-go — it saves time and makes it super easy to take your daily anti-inflammatory “golden shot” straight from the fridge.
• Adjust sweetness/heat:
Add more honey for sweetness, extra ginger for heat, or increase turmeric slightly if you prefer a stronger anti-inflammatory boost.
Choosing the sweetest pineapple 🍍
When it comes to making wellness shots, starting with a sweet, juicy pineapple makes all the difference. Look for a pineapple that feels heavy for its size, has a golden-yellow colour at the base, and smells sweet and fragrant at the bottom — that’s a great sign it’s ripe. The leaves should be fresh and green, not dry or brown. A little softness is fine, but avoid anything mushy.
Personally, I swear by the Tesco Jaffa Supersweet Pineapple — it’s consistently juicy, naturally sweet, and perfect for blending without needing loads of extra honey. If you want to check it out, you can find it here:

Using a really good pineapple means better flavour, less added sweetener, and an all-round better wellness shot.
